6/9/2023 0 Comments Sifu skate shopTerms to describe the Yang Boss Fight Phenomenon include:Īs a famous woman once said on the show "Family Guy", "GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!" Interestingly enough, I don't believe any of the other area bosses require use of the parry in any part of either of their phases. Meanwhile, a foundational skill is rendered inert for the boss fight. The final boss is a skill check for a skill that is not emphasized in the game. They mentioned that Yang is intended to be a skill check. Members of the dev shop were watching it and commenting on the gameplay. I actually watched a speed run of this game on YouTube. We are given an in-game tutorial on the avoid mechanic. But I don't intentionally use it regularly. I get parries by accident and I'll take it. It's even crazier when you consider how short the parry window is. Which is EVEN MORE galling, because the focus upgrades cost xp! The way its designed right now it all but tricks you into wasting the one-time, rare, ultra-important shrine upgrades on things that won't be useful. Or alternatively clearly earmark it as a mechanic that's not meant to be used and don't make people spend xp to unlock the moves in the first place. At the very least let you do something else with your massive investment of time into unlocking focus moves and bars. Whether or not it's beatable without focus isn't the point. One of the most bullshit things a game can do is have you run through the game playing it one way and at the very last hurdle the game says 'No, you can't play like the way you've been playing, that's wrong' and just turn off a huge chunk of your mechanics. It's not presented like a crutch it's presented like a core game mechanic. If Focus is a crutch then don't have half a dozen unlockable moves in the main skill tree? The point is you can then do as you please with the game if you arrive young. If you can beat this, the next level is markedly easier. They are more sweeps and vertical stakes take the bat in with you or the sword method if you prefer. Now your at level 3 and can take elevator to boss. If you dodge he follows with vertical strikes, dodge those 2 and punish. If you can beat the first boss without dyingĭodge, you can beat him without dying but his sweeps in the 2nd phase are a problem but he telegraphs them by raising it high at a angle, sweeps. You start a level at the age that you reached it. You don't have to start from the beginning. "Increase stagger with parry" 5000 points. The best perks are under the stage score. The game is all about efficiency, combo score and being legit good at all the aspects. My problem is NOT that the game is hard, but that some of the design choices are incredibly confusing and frustrating. I don't see how you could've missed my point considering I started off by saying that. I started out by saying that I love the game's mechanics and that I enjoy playing the game. Bye.ĮDIT: People seem to be confusing my rant with "game hard pls make easier". So I spent all that time getting all these focus skills and making them permanent, and I spent so many points on focus bars when I could've gotten something else, and then you tell me this is not something I can use on the final boss? ALL THAT EFFORT, ALL THAT TIME, ALL THOSE POINTS, AND I CAN'T USE IT? Terrible decision making by the developers. This for me was the final straw: you can't focus the final boss. Once again, what? I have to buy each skill 5 times to make it permanent? This isn't even that bad, it's just a weird idea. I hate it, give me the option to turn the "health down, damages up" thing off, or even the option to disable the whole aging thing. I can't even imagine the number of monotonous replays I'd need to accomplish to get to the final area at like 30 or less. What in the f***? I had to repeat levels over and over and over and over until I managed to get to the final area at like 46, and I wasn't even satisfied with it (may have died in the previous level due to fall damage a couple times), but I'm not about to go back and play the whole thing again just so I can be 44 or 40 instead. You are forced towards a glass-cannon playstyle the more you're bad at the game. So why does it suck? Because some of the decisions that were taken in this game make me so unbelievably frustrated, and I'm just gonna rant about it and you can't stop me.Įverytime I die the game gets harder? Who in the world thought this was a good idea? I can't even say that this works on paper. It clearly has taken some insipiration from Sekiro, and that's good because Sekiro's combat is legendary. Alright, so, disclaimer: I actually enjoy playing this game.
